I guess in the middle of a war, you try to focus on the celebrations. Then again, it makes me wonder if sugar was being rationed and if they even got to eat treats.
Excellent point. Maybe that is why they got so dressed up. Sort of like compensation for a treat less Holloween. I wonder if there was increase in tricks.
