Singing cowboys. I have fond memories of them well. Steel guitars and yodeling ( a form of singing, not to be confused with cream filled cakes). Who could not like Roy Rogers and “Happy Trails”? Or Gene Autry singing about “Rudolf”? Anyone under 60,that’s who. But I still enjoy those old movies and the music. A church skit…huh. I hope you record it. You could market it along with your book. Who wrote the skit? Your public needs more info.
It was a series on sex and marriage, and we had to give the top 10 excuses why married people are not having it. Super embarrassing, not the usual church sermons. Out of my comfort zone. At that moment, I was saying, “We’re out of little blue pills.” Weird, right? And then on to Song of Solomon after that…
I read Roy and Dale’s autobiographies when I was in my 20s, about their adoptions, her son she had as a teenager, their children with special needs who died. Very interesting. When I visited Nashville and the Country Music Hall of Fame, he had just passed, and they hadn’t added the date of death yet on his plaque. It just said From but not To. And then I met my husband’s grandfather, and he was Dale’s first cousin! She used to babysit him in the late 1920s!
No, I never saw that movie. But I can see online that Lenny from “Laverne and Shirley” is singing it. It was another movie but not Spinal Tap? I do understand the Paula Cole, though!
I love singing cowboys! Great photos 🙂

I think the mock-umentary was called “A mighty wind” a spoof on folk music. Hilarious! I think you would like it. You like humor, yes?
