Tastee-Freez is a name a bunch of small towns are familiar with. It was even immortalized in a song. Of course I remember the lyrics just not the song title.

I’ve never seen one in Texas or in my travels, so I only know of it because of the song Jack and Diane.

Well since Mellencamp is from Bloomington Indiana and he rocked the 80’s as Johnny Cougar; yeah I should have remembered that. Just gettin’ old I guess.

Lyrics, I remember. Why I went into the pantry, no clue. Getting old stinks!

Max, the AJF and I had a great time visiting Crater Lake a few years ago. Beautiful spot; we took lots of photos there. Plenty of Tastee Freezes along the backroads of the western states. Along with Foster Freeze and the ubiquitous Dairy Queen.

I tried to share this on the Facebook Crater Lake Employee page, but FB wouldn’t let me. Did you post this picture on FB? If yes, can I share it?
