Those pictures look so peaceful and welcoming Kerbey. That said, it was a hard time in the last century – polio ran rampant, there was a shortage of consumer goods as factories retooled after the war, so many soldiers who came home had serious problems and many could not find jobs. It was a rough time.

Yes, I was looking through some rough Depression pics today, people living in shantytowns, starving. No, thank you. I’ll take my cable and hot baths.
