Ha! yeah, I had that problem as a geek in high school too. Chess club, book club – you get the gist – there was only ever one girl and she was inevitably more competitive than the boys and not interested in dating. And,of course, everyone made fun of you. *sob*
I’d bet it turned out that these kids, overall, had more success in later life and happier family lives than the super popular kids of the time. Well, except for Gary who developed a taste for wearing lederhosen and is single to this day.
