Montgomery Clift Double Vision

twins 1956
Pitahaya Yearbook 1956

Methinks these high school twins could pass for young Clift body doubles, especially the one in the bolo tie. For those not familiar with Clift, he was a Method actor in the 1950s and 60s, starring in films such as The Misfits with Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable, in their last screen roles. Clift himself would die five years after the movie’s release.

Despite the aquiline nose and caterpillar eyebrows, Clift was a good-looking man. Too pretty, in fact. If the charms of the luscious Liz Taylor couldn’t challenge his sexuality, I guess no one could.

Because dang–look at her.

  1. That Liz. There is a resemblance but I don’t know if they could really pass for Monty. And wasn’t there “talk” about him and Sal Mineo? He was a fine actor, that’s for sure.

    1. Oh, that’s the name of the yearbook! I’d have to go look up the city, and I already shut down that computer. You forgot Liz Taylor used to be stunning?? Before White Diamonds…

  3. Whatever it is on that one boy’s arm is bushier than the caterpillar eyebrow, Kerbey. And yes, Liz, Ms. Taylor was a stunner in her day, wasn’t she? Even a young Mark saw and recognized that in his youth.
