Mmm although Europe had been at war for three years or so,by then but of course we Brits were/are not the most popular of nations! Love your site – brilliant images and wonderfully funny titles 😉
1942 Univ of Kansas dance, so they didn’t have all of their Nazi facts in yet. Although that’s like someone at a college dance dressing like Bin Laden. Not cool.
It’s foolhardy, even on a college campus where freedom of expression and out-of-the-box thinking was encouraged, I assume, even then, Kerbey. I can see somebody doing something similar in modern times to rile up the masses under the two flags above.
OK the Nazi uniform was a poor party costume choice but can we talk about the guy on his right with the uber trapezius muscles? What is that all about?
You mean “X marks the spot” man? He was Flashdance when Flashdance wasn’t cool. I wondered about him and his coalmining buddy as well. It’s like George Clooney got burnt. Really, the entire right side is an “I don’t get it” moment. And doesn’t the Nazi look shady?
Oh this is an extraordinary image of someone who was either stupid or dangerous but worse still probably both!

Perhaps because it was 1942, they weren’t aware of all the atrocities, but yeah, I agree.

Yes, Europe would have been more aware than Americans, who only got involved Dec 1941. Thanks for visiting. Lots of love here for Brits!

Hmmmm… that’s one costume party choice that probably wouldn’t win a popularity contest back then or now. 😀
