Three-year-old Joyce Bjerk towers high above the ground below in her father Oscar’s barber shop in Karlstad, Minnesota. Pop’s sign above the swanky Maytag washing machine declares a haircut and a shave for a fair price of just two quarters. Joyce seems to be getting the standard kids’ cut of 1934. At least she knows it’s on the house.
Those were some days, Kerbey. Thanks for sharing the kid and the dad and the prices and the whole thing.

I need to see a barber desperately. My hair ha gotten so long I imagine looking like Prince Valiant when it is probably Conan.

Ha! Do you not feel safe going? I have an appointment on Thursday, and I wear my mask.

It isn’t so much fear as it is finding a barber that is working. That and laziness.

Haha, that takes me back, Kerbey. I remember asking the barber for a haircut like the Dave Clark Five and seeing my mom mouth, “short back and sides” through the mirror 😉
