That top pic must be a shop class. All male, teacher hiding way in the back. He’s trying to hide the fact that he lost his left eye in a horrendous lathe accident. A couple of those guys look like they’re wearing test patterns. The bottom shot surely has to be freshman English Lit. Mostly women. Only 4 guys with dull expressions. As a general rule dudes don’t give a fig about any sort of literature. Hey you never did venture a guess on what those kids in your header pic are doing with their hands.
You must be right. In a picture I found of Western Lit class, the girls all have books open, and the boys are just standing around. I guessed that the kids in the header were playing “air” instruments–I know I sent that response–like “air guitar.” That lathe accident comment brought to mind the image of Johnny Cash’s brother falling on to a wood saw in the 40s and being cut in two. Ick!
It’s pretty clear to me that they…hold on …I feel a song coming on…
I gotta cut loose, footloose
Kick off the Sunday shoes
Please, Louise, pull them off of my knees
Jack, get Mack, come on before they crack

Woah, Milo, come on, come on let’s go! I’m suddely in a prom dress dancing with Ren and confetti in my hair!

And on a darker note: We don’t need no thought control. No dark sarcasm in the classroom. Teachers leave them kids alone!
Looking forward to your second installment.

Bravo on your British accent! I can see the students being put in a meat grinder!

You can’t have your pudding if you don’t eat your meat, Kevin Bacon. Best I could do to mix Footloose and Pink Floyd. Sorry, Mates!

Boredom must look the same in any decade. Only in the 50’s it must have radiated from that radiator. . .or something like that. 🙂
