All Hail The Dork King

Hear ye, hear ye! All ye dweebs and jocks, preppies and new-wavers! All hail the dork king, astride his steed (which resembles a dragon, an homage to his Dungeons and Dragons skills).

I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum.

Bronco85021The crowd goes nuts! A damsel with a parasol tosses Brach’s candies as a sign of support for the new regime!

Bronco85022Competition to be his queen is fierce! Tammy gives him a wink while shamelessly putting her crafty crepe paper skills on display. bronco85023

Bonnie Tyler lyrics run through her head. She can hardly keep her wits about her.

Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need!

Not to be outdone, Travis plunges through her crepe paper mayhem, as though lassoed by her wiles. bronco85024

No need to hold out for a hero any longer, Tammy! I am here with my hairless chest and my peachfuzz ‘stache at your command!

Whom shall she choose?

  1. Dorks? Dungeons and Dragons? Lord I am so glad I was 35 in ’85. I had a whole different set of problems. But I sure like Brachs candies. And I couldn’t help but notice the drummer in charge with the “head ape” cap. Wait was Dungeons and Dragons around in 1985? And what would you call an anti-dork.

      1. Really! I had no idea it was that old. If someone had mentioned Dungeons and Dragons back then I would have thought it was a new night club. I’ll take smooth.

  2. fantastic storyline–you know how to pull a tale together, Kerbey. That last peachfuzz ‘stache as me eww-ing again. Brings me back, I guess. Tammy looks like a handful. The Brachs bags were fun to put together. Wonder what the Parasol Queen included in her selections? Thinking the Dork King’s glasses allow for x-ray vision and he is checking out the females in the crowd. Lastly, my heart goes out to the drummers. Band was was a tough gig, but really it’s the best kids. My opinion.

    1. It better be the best kids; my kid is joining band in August! 🙂 You know, you may be right about those x-ray vision glasses. Who’s having the last laugh now? Evidently the D&D Dork.

I think the Brach’s is full of peanut butter chews and butterscotch. But if it were me, it would be dark chocolate coconut mounds/haystacks at $9/lb.

  3. While I hope they’re all smacking their foreheads in embarrassment right about now, I’m just happy they’re enjoying themselves. I haven’t collected sets upon sets of data, kerbey, but the 80s were so much more happy than the following 30 years.
