  1. “It is so short and jumbled and jangled, Sam, because there is nothing intelligent to say about a massacre. Everybody is supposed to be dead, to never say anything or want anything ever again. Everything is supposed to be very quiet after a massacre, and it always is, except for the birds. And what do the birds say? All there is to say about a massacre, things like “Poo-tee-weet?” ~ Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five

      1. It’s essentially the same observation. The sheer gravity of a war/holocaust/massacre is only felt by sentient humans, and most of them would be dead. The rest of the world goes forward. And the beat goes on… and the beat goes on…

  2. woah, how is that child standing up in skates. My 7 year old still can’t stand up in roller skates, so how is a 2(?) year old managing it?!
