      • I’ve never had a bowling alley cheeseburger before so I can’t compare. A drug store burger was cooked on a flat-top with the bun next to it so they both were greasy. Plus it was rare when I could buy one,so I am sure that increased my longing. I can’t think of any bowling alleys around here that sell food. I can’t believe you haven’t tried that drug store. Oh did you guys have Woolworths Drugs in Texas?

      • Yeah, we had Woolworth’s, but I haven’t seen one in a long time. All of our bowling alleys sell food–burgers, enchiladas, appetizers–all priced too high. I can see how not having that burger would increase the longing. Memories preserved in amber.
