That is a great opportunity for a song. I remember Homer always was referencing the “wine dark sea”. Which begged the question. What was different? The wine or the vision? Did we perceive color differently 2500 years ago? Don’t know, but I like both expressions. So if white water is rapidly moving thrashing about water is black water deep and unmoving?
I admit I’ve never seen a “wine dark sea.” Then again, I’ve never seen purple rain. I guess the clear water looks white when frothy and black when placid. So you’re right!
