You remember my pre-dawn ruckus raisers from a couple days ago? Well, their mama decided to join them in the nest yesterday. Turns out, she’s a dove.
I didn’t want to get too close and spook her, so I let the zoom lens do all the work.

Well how pretty this is, Kerbey. A morning dove.

Beautiful. And she looks pretty sharp-eyed. I think you may have been spotted Kerbey.

Indeed. But she was a statue. And so were the babies. They are good at being stiff.

Yay! You’re back and in one piece! Glad to have you here in the nature (but also recognizing a break from WordPress was probably long overdue). To get a true feeling of what this bird feels, you must add the jackhammer one street away, which goes from 6:45am until dark each day, breaking up slabs that were poured for houses no one built. So her little birdbrain (and mine) are rattled.
