Birds are crafty flitterers. Just when you’ve lined up the shot, they disappear.
But fortune smiled on me (I am overdue!), and I was able to capture this brilliant male against the bare winter branches of the tree.

What a beautiful shot. That shows both skill and patience. Ilso I am curious about your header pic. Two ladies smiling; one looking bemused and the last apparently has sniffed something foul. Interesting arrangement.

It looks like they were all at a social near a punch bowl or something like that. Yes, one does look that way.

Punch bowl! That explains it all. Someone has spiked the punch and the first girl isn’t quite sure if she should imbibe. The second and forth; old hats at spiked punch are over joyed. The final girl is all ” I don’t think so”.

That’s a mighty handsome cardinal. Have you seen Brazilian cardinals? Only their head is bright red. They are all over the place in Hawaii.

I feed the birds in my backyard. They used to let me watch them eat , but no more. I think it’s due to petting the neighbors’s cat.
