Modern San Isidro shops offer smaller baskets, should you so desire to transport bananas on your head.
If you prefer a platter, that’s always an option as well.
I Don't Get It 
In the Western states a cowboy hat is worn by a lot of people. In Yankee country if I had to pick a hat it would be a stocking cap.

The balance, poise and confidence of people who carry things on their head has always amazed me. I could barely do that posture test with balancing books on your head.
