I’m thinking we all need to agree on some standard for animals wearing clothes. From Micky No Pants to Elsie’s Dad (what the heck is he wearing?) we have gone too long without some consistent guidelines.
Dad has a cow because they tried to steer the family to some bad seating? Buffalo them to buttered popcorn? What is this ad for, Kerbey? Elsie seems to be the star of the movie?
This is a very obscure ad Kerby. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what it refered to so I looked it up and lo and behold there is a whole piece of history that escaped me. The little calf would be Beulah. This would be an ad for the 1940 version of Little men with Elsie the Borden cow as Buttercup in the movie. This was promoted heavily because Elsie was famous and would later go onto sell war bonds/ Apparently Elsie was one of the most recognized marketing tools in history. Thanks for the thoght provoking pic. I’m a better informed citizen now – Moo!

I hear you loud and clear. Winnie the Pooh never has pants on. These cows seem to know only how to accessorize.

Hats and gloves on Elsie and her daughter does look a bit risque.
