Golly imported Real holly ! I guess in locales that didn’t have real holly it was a big deal. It just seems sorta chintzy to me. Other than a desert, where doesn’t holly grow?
That’s what I was wondering. And we have year-round mistletoe that I could package up and send out as well. These days you can just go to Michael’s or Hobby Lobby and buy fake stuff. Still, I don’t need any holly at all.
Our longtime — 50 years!!! — movie critic and writer at the big daily, may she rest in peace, once had a box of fresh holly sent to my dear wife Karen and I directly to our house as a Christmas gift. I arched an eyebrow until my smart wife told my how cool and special a gift it was and hung it on our front door. I do believe it came from Oregon, too, Kerbey. I think it’s more rare of a gift now than it was in that great photo, I’d guess.

I thought real Holly was prickly around the edges? I actually knew a woman called Holly and she was prickly around the edges. Ha!

It is! We actually have some in our front bushes next to the rosemary. Did you know a gal named Rosemary who smelled fragrant?

Indeed–if I had a nickel everytime someone asked me that question (about the customers and employees and holly).
The snow–you have it, too silly 🙂

So you can actually relate to this! The beneficiary of fresh Oregon Holly. Which is not the same as Organ Holly.

I would think not, and hope not, and investigate no further, Kerbey. 🙂

The interesting thing here is that she doesn’t look all that ‘full-berried’ to me.
